Specialist translation into English

Translations into English are offered for books, guidebooks, exhibitions, articles, abstracts, summaries, grant applications, internet pages, correspondence, conference materials etc. in the areas of archaeology, monuments care, museology, archive studies, history, art history and related disciplines.

Translations are accepted and returned either as typescript, or as files in the Word for Windows (.doc/.docx), OpenDocument (.odt) or RTF formats. Completed translations are delivered by hand, registered mail or e-mail.

Rates for clients in the Czech Republic are shown in the table below. The rates are based on the “standard page” of completed text, which is taken in accordance with European Union practice to be 1500 characters excluding spaces. The usual time frame for completing a translation, as established by the Czech Union of Interpreters and Translators, is six standard pages per working day. The days on which the text is sent to the translator and returned to the client are not counted as working days in this sense. Rates include review of author corrections. English language correction is offered in the same fields as translation. These rates for correction relate to texts produced by other translators or the text’s original author, and are based on the “standard page” of 1500 characters excluding spaces. English language proof-reading

The correction of English language printing proofs is offered in the same fields as translation. Rates are based on actual prepared pages. Clients outside the Czech Republic should contact us for sterling, dollar and euro rates.

Texts are accepted either in Adobe Acrobat PDF format or in printed form. Corrections may be made directly to the proof sheets or in the form of an annotated list. Completed corrections are delivered by hand, registered mail or e-mail.
